Additional Career Resources
Seek out your local Workforce Development office to see what they have to offer. You can go to Career One Stop and enter your zip code to find the office closest to you. These services are always free to residents of the local area.
Non-profit organizations are offering returnships. They work with employers to create opportunities and with mothers who want to get back into their field of work. A few examples are at Reboot Accel (based near San Francisco and focusing on jobs in technology, legal, and finance), and The Mom Project out of Chicago. Some for-profit companies are focused on matching women returning to work with flexible employment opportunities. Examples of these are at WrK.co and at MomCorp. These are not returnships but they target a similar audience.
