Compensation
- You are authorized to approve a salary within a range of $50,000 to $60,000.
- Outside the range requires senior management approval and needs to be supported. There is no guarantee it will be approved.
- You are authorized to offer a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000.
- The company pays other Funeral Directors in the region $56,000 on average.
Training and Travel
- You have a budget of up to $5000 per fiscal year at your discretion.
- When safe and possible, this is an in person position. This funeral home is in a difficult to reach location (not near a Metro stop, inside the DC beltway). You could offer one day a week of telecommuting, though more than that has shown to be detrimental to smooth and successful operations. There is free parking.

- Days off - Two weeks earned incrementally over the course of each year is standard for new employees (at year three, it goes to three weeks/yr.). All staff get three personal days and ten sick days annually.
- You offer competitive health insurance options with three providers and company pays 75% of plan costs (average costs to individual employees is about $100/month).
- Company provides tuition reimbursement up to $5000 per fiscal year for classes if employees received a passing grade and course work is tied to business need.
- After 1 year, the company offers enrollment in pension plan and matches employee contributions up to 4% for the first three years. After three years, the match increases with seniority up to 10% max.
- Other misc. benefits: holiday bonus in December based on company profits (equal amount for all employees), a free Turkey at Thanksgiving and elaborate company events for all employees and their families twice a year (holiday party and summer picnic).
